LENT & EASTER

Worship with us at these services:

Ash Wednesday - February 17th, 7:30 PM
This year's Lenten theme will be "The Beatitudes." Come and see how these words of Christ can transform our attitude and relationships. In this service we burn our sins, partake in Holy Communion, pray together, and receive ashes as a reminder of our mortality.

Each week we will sing and pray together and study "The Beatitudes." All Lenten services are casual and interactive.

Palm Sunday - March 28th, 9:15 AM Sunday School & 10:30 AM Worship
Begining at 9:15 AM, experience an interactive Walk-Thru Holy Week - Christ turning the money-changer tables, Mary annointing Jesus' feet with perfume, the upper room, crawl through the cave, and resurrection rejoicing.

Maundy Thursday Tenebrae - April 1st, 7:30 PM
Holy Communion and commemoration of Christ's Last Supper, followed by interactive prayer stations.

THE FOOD PANTRY thanks you for all the food and money donated for Thanksgiving. We collected $250.00 (Little Sarah gave $16.50 in change – Thank you, Sarah).  The pantry also did 91 boxes all total for Thanksgiving so it shows that the need is definitely increasing unfortunately.  Hopefully the economy will turn around soon. Food items (except soup) and paper products are always needed to replenish the shelves.  Please deposit your items in the box by the coat racks or see Vicki or Cindy.

Every year, ZRC gathers CHRISTMAS GIFTS for the families who use the pantry. This year we have the names of 11 or 12 children. If you would like to buy gifts, see Vicki Oswald who will give you a card with all the information on it. The limit to spend is around $30.00.

Holiday Greetings!
Postage can cost you a pretty penny when you mail a stack of cards to loved ones and friends. This year, there will be a decorated box for you to put in cards for other church members. The box will be available until Dec 13th when the cards will be sorted and ready for pickup. Since you will be saving so much on postage, maybe you’d like to donate a dollar or two to the food pantry. A donation box will also be provided. Any questions? See Rose Rothermel.

TEAM UPDATES

MEMBERSHIP & VISITATION
In recent months the M & V Team has been visiting some of our shut ins , friends and members. In the new year(2010) we hope to continue our outreach to those in our church family that  we were unable to connect with this year.  M & V Team- Marcia Lindenmuth, Don Mengle, Willie Kleckner & Pastor Wanda

CHRISTIAN ED/SUNDAY SCHOOL
The Sunday School team wants to provide a library of books & videos with wholesome content for all to share. If you have any items to donate for this project, please see Deb Steffe.

Let your light shine! On January 10, we will celebrate Epiphany with a multi-generational Sunday School experience at 9:15 AM which will continue into worship at 10:30 AM. We had a great time at the Homecoming event in September (pictures on the bulletin board!) and we invite you to join in the faith-full fun. The planning team meets again on Dec. 10 at the home of Jeannie Miller at 6:30 PM. If you’d like to plan with us, please come share your ideas.

WORSHIP & MUSIC
The Worship and Music Team is again offering anthem sponsorship.  The cost is $20 to purchase an anthem in memory or in honor of a loved one.  Please see Debbie Hoy if you are interested.

LEGAL TEAM
The Legal Team continues to work on the new constitution and bylaws for the shared ministry. We have completed to the section on “Organizations with the Congregation.”  We are reconfiguring what should be articles and and what constitutes bylaws.  We are in contact with the Synod and the Conference when questions arise.  We are making steady progress and have sent a first draft to the Board for their perusal for about half of the document.  We will meet again in January to hopefully finish by early 2010.  It is a time consuming and lengthy process.

We are also in contact with our lawyer, Frank Tamulonis and those people involved with the Route 61 project and how it affects our property.
